Hey everyone!! First off I want to thank Laura for letting me do this post. Okay, just letting you all know our family has four cats and one of our girl cats has had a lot of litters of kittens so I've had experience with cats. Speaking of kittens and having cat labor, that's what my subject will be today. Anyway, like I said, we've had lots of different litters of kittens. If you have outdoor cats and one of your cats are having labor and you don't know what to do, here's what to do. My older sister handles it most of the time but I've seen her do it. First of all you get her some towels or blankets and put them under her. If you see her licking where the kittens will come out, that's okay. That's normal. Now she might start meowing and you might be worried (like me every time), but that's just the process. (wouldn't you scream if you had a baby without any medicine or anything!) You might want to give her privacy. She may not even be done until morning. The first litter she'll have a lot, and then when she's had a lot of litters, her usual will be four. They will have they're eyes closed for awhile, and that's fine. Once they open them they're so cute and playful!! If you're wondering when you can take them to live without they're mommy or sell them, we usually wait until 6 or 8 weeks. Now the indoor cats you can do the same thing but when you give them some privacy either leave the room or put the blanket over the crate. Hope y'all enjoyed this post!!! Thanks again Laura!!!

ReplyDeleteFun post.
ReplyDeleteThis is a neat post Makayla! I've had three litters of kittens and the momma cat pretty much did all the work, all I had to do was make sure they were warm and didn't get trampled by momma cat!
